Prior to joining the firm in the Funds group in 2014 Jonathan worked as a Judge’s Associate at the Supreme Court of New South Wales, thereafter as an Associate with Clifford Chance in Sydney Australia where he focused on mergers, acquisitions and investment management and then with a leading offshore firm in Cayman advising on investment funds.
With over twelve years of legal experience Jonathan has advised institutional investors on investment opportunities and seed capital arrangements, structuring, formation, marketing, capital raising governance and liquidation of a broad range of private open and closed ended investment funds including hybrids, buyout funds, credit and/or debt opportunity funds, fund of funds, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure funds and hedge funds adopting investment strategies ranging from quant to global macro. Jonathan has developed a high degree of expertise in relation to cryptocurrency investment funds, cryptocurrency mining funds and initial coin offerings (ICOs) and their unique regulatory, legal and commercial complexities and has advised a number of clients in these areas across the healthcare, entertainment and FinTech sectors.
